Dr. Naresh Chandra
Greetings from B. K. Birla College, Kalyan!

It has been a very purposeful and fruitful journey for me at our great institution. After retiring from the post of Principal in May 2018, I have been appointed as a Director (Education). I shall ever remain indebted to the esteemed Management for having placed their trust and faith upon me. We are committed in providing our students and stakeholders with a high-quality education that will prepare them for success in their future endeavours.

It has been a very purposeful and fruitful journey for me at our great institution. After retiring from the post of Principal in May 2018, I have been appointed as a Director (Education). I shall ever remain indebted to the esteemed Management for having placed their trust and faith upon me. We are committed in providing our students and stakeholders with a high-quality education that will prepare them for success in their future endeavours.
The college has set up advanced labs including IoT & Robotics Lab and iMac Lab, enhancing hands-on learning. NEP-2020 has been implemented from A.Y. 2023–24. With the continued support from the esteemed management, our college has introduced a wide range of need-based and new age future-ready UG and PG programmes.

Currently, the college offers 38 UG, 37 PG, and 9 Ph.D. programmes. New-age courses like B.Voc, BCA, BMS, M.Com.(E-Commerce), M.Sc. (AI, Data Science, Finance, Food Science & Nutraceuticals, Biotechnology) along with PG Diplomas in Bio-nanotechnology and Global Education, A-DMLT, B.M.S. (Retail Management) in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki Pvt. Ltd., etc. have been launched recently, with further additions like B.Com. (Logistics) and M.Sc. (Cyber Security) from A.Y. 2024–25. We intend to start Two divisions of BBA and One division of MCA from the academic year 2025-26.

In alignment with the values, Simplicity, Humility, and Humanity of our Patrons, Padma Bhushan Smt. Rajashree ji Birla, Padma Bhushan Shri Kumar Mangalam Ji Birla and Dr. Smt. Neerja ji Birla, we follow an inclusive, student-centric approach that empowers every learner to explore their potential to contribute to the society through academics, research, sports, culture, etc.

The College has established Mpower Counselling Cell by our patron Respected Dr. Neerja ji Birla, Founder and Chairperson of Mpower and ABET to provide holistic mental health care solutions.

The management provides financial support to the students for participating in International and National Level for cultural and sports events. The College provides Tuition fee concession to needy students in addition to scholarships / freeships by Government. The Management also provides scholarships to the needy and deserving students.

Environmental Sciences Laboratory has been granted accreditation by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for wastewater analysis from 9th August, 2022. Additionally, the scope of Accreditation is being increased for the analysis of soil, ground water and drinking water from 19th December 2024

We feel proud to have been reaccredited by NAAC (4th Cycle) with an ‘A++’ Grade (CGPA 3.51) (2024–31).

Research remains integral to our ethos, with 24 Ph.D. guides, 50 patents (31 granted), and active participation in national and international research and exchange programs.

We strongly believe that education builds character, resilience, and passion for lifelong learning. With dedicated faculty, state of the art infrastructure, and a dynamic curriculum, we prepare students for real-world challenges with a focus on holistic development..

The college has been organizing impactful activities such as Gyan Dindi, Swachhata and Environment Awareness Rally, Vriksha Dindi, Rakshabandhan, PRAVAH – Science Festival, Urja - Sports Fest, Management Days, TechExpression, Public Budget Meet, Commergence, Metamorphosis, BIRLOTSAV, Seminars, Workshops, etc.

Key Recognitions & Awards:

  • Ranked No. 6 in India and No. 5 in Maharashtra under the category ‘Private Autonomous ASC College’ EducationWorld India Higher Education Rankings Awards 2025–26 and

  • Ranked No. 1 in India under the category ‘Exemplary Leadership’ and invited as a Panelist on the theme "Higher Education 2.0: Disruptive New University Models" by EducationWorld India Higher Education Rankings Awards 2025–26. (25th April 2025).

  • Silver position in Excellence in GreenTech Sustainability – Economic Times (6 March 2025).
