Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) with effect from the academic year 2018-19
Quality Objectives:
- To finalise examination pattern under autonomy.
- To develop a manual for smooth conduct of examinations.
- To provide course-wise, program-wise result analysis.
- To minimize the use of unfair means in examination by students.
Examination pattern under Autonomy - New Education Policy (NEP) 2020
Assigning Course wise Credit: Steps for Implementation General Overviews
We have introduced 40:60 in all aided and unaided courses under autonomy.
The Credits are defined in terms of the learner’s time spent in hours which are divided into two parts such as face-to-face instruction and notional learning hours. The value of a particular course can be measured in number of Credit Points. The value of One Credit is equal to 15 learning hours.
The scheme of Examination shall be divided into two parts: Internal assessment and External assessment (semester end examination). Internal Assessment includes Assignments, Projects, Seminars, Case Studies, Quizzes, Viva, Open book test, Unit Tests etc.

The total credits to be earned by learner to achieve Under Graduate Program degree shall be 120 Credits and for postgraduate it will be 96 credits.

Board of Examination Pattern for UG and PG
The Scheme of Examination shall be divided into two components: Internal assessment and External assessment (semester end examination) for each course of the program.
For each course, there is a passing minimum for internal Assessment as 40% (16 out of 40 marks), for External / Semester End Examination 40% (24 out of 60 marks) and overall 40% (40 out of 100 marks).
The marks will be given for all examinations and they will be converted into grade points. The semester-end, final grade card will have only credits, grades, grade points, SGPA and CGPA.

The semester end examination (external component) of 60 % for each course will be as follows:
i) Duration – 2 Hours
ii) Theory Question Paper Pattern:-
- There shall be four questions each of 15 marks. On each unit there will be one question and the fourth one will be based on entire syllabus.
- All questions shall be compulsory with internal choice within the questions. (Each question will be of 30 marks with options.)
- Questions may be subdivided into sub-questions a, b, c… and the allocation of marks depend on the weightage of the topic. For the external examination of the F.Y / S.Y. courses there will be a Single Evaluation with Moderation. All courses will have External Moderation and it will be done on the following basis: 10% of the paper in each course on a random basis.
- At the Third Year, there will be a Double-Blind Evaluation through an external examiner and the teacher of the course an average of the two scores will be awarded. If 30% or more of the double blind evaluated papers assessed by a particular examiner of a course have a change of more than 15% of total marks assigned to the paper, a third blind evaluation will be required. The average of the internal and final evaluated marks will be the ultimate score awarded.
Performance Grading
The performance grading of the learners shall be on the TEN point ranking system as under:

The performance grading shall be based on the aggregate performance of Internal Assessment and Semester End Examination.
