About the Department
The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1999. The Department offers programmes like B.Sc. Computer Science , B.Sc. Data Science M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and M.Sc. Computer Science. The no. of seats sanctioned for B.Sc. Computer Science is 72 seats , for B.Sc. Data Science 60 seats and 40 seats for M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence, M.Sc Computer Science. The department has a spacious laboratory with more than Forty computers connected in a LAN, working fully on Windows based software. Department has separate laboratory for UG and PG. The Department also maintains a well-stocked library of Computer Science books which supplements the wide range of books available in the main library of the College.

The Department is supported by Department of Biotechnology, MHRD, Govt. of India. Under this scheme department conducts interdisciplinary additional practicals for the Students in College. Every semester additional min 15 Hrs of practical are conducted for Departmental students as well as other students of the college. Under this scheme department is conducting Intercollegiate Science Festivals, where more than 40+ colleges are taking part in various competitions. Under this scheme student are benefited with hands on practical workshop as well as seminars/webinars on the topics of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, etc.

Department has started an add-on certificate courses each Semester for the benefit of Students having 2 credits. The Department is having facility of Smart boards, Projectors, etc. The efforts of the staff have resulted in various students being placed in top most IT companies and also students are taking parts in Intercollegiate Competitions and winning prizes. The staff is updated with recent technologies.

Our students have also enrolled for higher studies (Ph.D. / MS) in different foreign universities
Department staff mostly believes in engaging lectures using ICT technologies.and also  Flipped learning is implemented in Teaching-Learning. Department conducts online test on MOOC and ERP system. 
 
Faculty Achievements
National Institute of Agriculture extension Management Center for Innovation and Agripreneurship  (Manage CIA) sanctioned 1 Major Research project of Rs. 5.00 Lakh and University of Mumbai sanctioned 3 Minor Research Projects to our staff. Recently two of the Dept. staff members were awarded Winning Member in Class A category in e-Yantra of an initiative by IIT Bombay, Sponsored by MHRD under the National Mission on Education through ICT program. One of the faculty have bagged Best Faculty Award twice. Every year faculties are publishing research papers in National / International Journals.
